Britain imposes new sanctions against Russia

According to the Handelsblatt newspaper, the British government has imposed new sanctions against Russia in response to its ongoing war against Ukraine.

According to the official British government website, the sanctions include 11 new individuals and companies targeted for alleged involvement in or support for Russian government programs for what London calls the forced deportation and militarization of Ukrainian children.

This move is part of Britain’s efforts to increase economic and political pressure on Russia.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the UK has imposed sanctions on more than 1,500 individuals and entities, focusing in particular on restricting Russia’s financial and military resources.

The British government has emphasized that these sanctions are aimed at weakening Russia’s war capabilities and supporting Ukraine in achieving peace through force.

Further details on the individuals and companies sanctioned are available on the updated UK sanctions list.
