According to Euronews, verbal tensions between France and the Israeli regime have escalated following statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu claimed that French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to recognize the state of Palestine has fueled a rise in anti-Semitism in France.
Macron’s office called the accusation “baseless” and “baseless” in a statement on Tuesday, August 19, and stressed that France will always protect its Jewish citizens.
The statement also announced that Netanyahu’s letter would not go unanswered, indicating the escalation of diplomatic differences between the two countries.
This verbal clash occurs at a time when relations between France and the Israeli regime are affected by different positions on the Palestinian issue, and further exchanges of views are expected in this regard.
