Saudi official: Netanyahu seeks to form ‘Greater Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates’

Prince Turki al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence, warned in response to recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he seeks to realize the vision of Greater Israel based on the interpretation of the Bible, which includes lands from the Nile to the Euphrates.

“Netanyahu now openly speaks of the biblical image of Israel and even shows it on maps; this image includes lands from the Nile to the Euphrates,” Al-Faisal said in remarks echoed on social media.

He added: “Will Netanyahu follow the path of peace or is he seeking to occupy the lands of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, and Egypt? He is among those seeking occupation.”

The comments follow Netanyahu’s interview with the i24 network, in which he spoke of his deep connection to the idea of a Greater Israel, an idea that includes areas beyond Israel’s current borders, including parts of Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinian territories.
