According to news media reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on (16 August 2025) that he would pursue five main goals in the new invasion of Gaza.
1- Complete disarmament of Hamas. Destroying Hamas’s military capability has been declared as one of the key goals for weakening this group.
2- The release of all prisoners and the return of all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
3-Preventing the production or entry of weapons into Gaza. Establishing severe restrictions to prevent Hamas from accessing weapons.
4- Complete Israeli security control over Gaza and the creation of a security zone. Establishing Israeli military sovereignty over the entire Gaza Strip and creating a buffer zone to ensure security.
-5- Formation of a new government without the presence of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. Establishment of a new civilian administration in Gaza that is not under the control of Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.
