Hezbollah, Nawaf Salam’s government is unable to disarm the resistance

Mahmoud Qamati, Deputy Chairman of the Political Council of Hezbollah in Lebanon, emphasized in a meeting with Hanna Gharib, Secretary General of the Lebanese Communist Party, that the government of Nawaf Salam is not only unable to disarm the resistance, but its recent decision to limit Hezbollah’s weapons is a betrayal of Lebanon’s national interests and a surrender to foreign pressure, especially the United States.

He called this decision an unsupported check that was made under foreign dictates and will never be implemented.

Referring to the daily aggressions of the Zionist regime against Lebanese soil, Mr. Qamati stated that the resistance is the result of the Israeli occupation and was formed when the government failed to protect citizens and the country’s sovereignty.

He warned that if the government wants to implement this plan, it will face widespread popular resistance because the “resistance” is part of the Lebanese National Front and not isolated or besieged.

Hana Gharib also considered the government’s decision a violation of the ministerial statement and the result of clear American pressure, which puts the interests of the Zionist regime ahead of Lebanon.
