Massive protests by Hezbollah supporters in Lebanon against the resistance’s disarmament plan

Following the approval of the general plan to disarm Hezbollah by the Lebanese cabinet, supporters of the movement held widespread demonstrations in various regions of the country, including the southern suburbs of Beirut, Tyre, Baalbek, Hermel, Sidon, and the town of Al-Qasr on the Lebanese-Syrian border, expressing their strong opposition to any attack on the weapons of the resistance.

This plan, proposed under US pressure and in line with the implementation of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, has been condemned by Hezbollah and the Amal Movement as an “illegitimate decision” and the result of foreign pressure.

Ministers affiliated with Hezbollah and the Amal Movement left the cabinet meeting before the plan was approved in protest, emphasizing that any discussion about disarming Hezbollah should be postponed until the Israeli regime’s military completely withdraws from Lebanese territory and the regime’s attacks cease.

Hassan Ezzedine, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance faction in the Lebanese parliament, also considered the plan to lack national consensus and described the issue of Hezbollah’s weapons as very sensitive and vital to Lebanon’s security.
