In response to the decision of the Israeli regime’s political-security cabinet to militarily occupy Gaza City, Lebanese Hezbollah issued a statement, condemning the move and criticizing the Lebanese government for its recent decision to disarm the group.
Hezbollah announced: “The Zionist enemy is plotting to destroy the resistance and seize Gaza, but in such a sensitive situation, the Lebanese government has taken action to disarm us instead of supporting the resistance.”
Hours before the approval of this plan by the political security cabinet, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in an interview that Israel does not intend to take permanent control of the Gaza Strip, but rather aims to create a “security” zone and hand over control of the region to Arab forces.
According to reports, the Israeli plan focuses on the evacuation of Gaza City, and in the first phase, warnings will be issued to evacuate the city’s residents.
Hezbollah also called the Lebanese government’s decision to disarm by the end of 2025 an illegitimate decision and announced that it does not recognize it.
