Heavy monsoon rains in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh have killed at least 170 people and caused widespread damage.
According to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEO), 281 people have been injured so far and 36 are still missing.
Of the total fatalities, 95 people died in rain-related incidents such as landslides, floods, and drowning, while another 78 people were victims of road accidents caused by adverse weather conditions.
The rains, which began on June 20, have blocked 301 roads, knocked out 436 electrical transformers, and disrupted 254 water supply projects.
State officials are coordinating rescue and reconstruction operations with relief teams, but the forecast of more rain has raised concerns.
Monsoon rains in India usually last from June to September and are often associated with loss of life and property.
