Israel bombed Syrian army positions in Sweida
Israeli warplanes targeted Syrian army positions during recent clashes between Syrian army forces and the Druze community in the city of Sweida.
The Israeli Defense Minister said in a statement that the attacks were “a clear message and warning to the Syrian regime.”
He emphasized: “We will not allow any harm to befall the Druze of Syria, and Israel will not remain indifferent to this issue.”
The attacks followed the release of a video by the Israeli army showing the targeting of Syrian army T-72 tanks on the way to Sweida.
This action comes as tensions in southern Syria have risen between the army and local groups, and Israel has repeatedly claimed to support the Druze community against threats.
Further details of damage or casualties from these attacks have not yet been reported.
