The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the leaders of the Islamic Emirate; Russia called it unfair
On Tuesday (10th of July 2025), the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the Leader of the Islamic Emirate and the Chief Justice of the country, a decision that has led to mixed reactions.
Konstantin Kasachov, deputy speaker of the Russian Federation Council, described the move as unfair and double-dealing, saying that the court ignored the West’s war crimes in Afghanistan, including the destruction of villages, schools and hospitals, and the killing of women and children, and that no warrant has been issued to arrest the perpetrators of these crimes.
On the other hand, the Islamic Emirate, in response to this ruling, announced that it does not recognize the International Criminal Court.
