China unveils new graphite bomb capable of widespread power outages
The Chinese military has released a design for an advanced graphite aerial bomb capable of completely cutting off power to an area of 10,000 square meters.
This weapon releases 90 micromunitions that create a cloud of conductive graphite filaments that, when placed on high-voltage power lines and transformers, cause widespread disruption to the enemy’s power grid.
This technology is similar to the American graphite bombs that knocked out 85% of Iraq’s electricity during the First Gulf War (BLU-114/B) and 70% of Serbia’s electricity grid during the NATO invasion of Yugoslavia.
This new weapon represents China’s progress in developing unconventional weapons to target critical enemy infrastructure.
