US President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order banning citizens from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Haiti and Libya, from entering the United States.
“We cannot have free immigration from any country that we cannot safely and reliably screen,” he said in a video released by the White House.
That’s why today I’m signing a new executive order that imposes travel restrictions on countries including Yemen, Somalia, Haiti, Libya, and many others.
He pointed to the recent terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, by an Egyptian citizen on a crowd of supporters of the Israeli hostages in Gaza, saying that the incident highlighted the grave risks posed to the United States by the entry of unverified foreign nationals.
