Hamas announces readiness to enter into Gaza ceasefire talks

Hamas stressed its readiness to immediately begin indirect negotiations aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The Islamic resistance movement Hamas issued a statement on Sunday, welcoming the continued efforts of Qatar and Egypt to reach a solution to end the war of the Zionist occupiers against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The movement continued its statement by emphasizing that Hamas is ready to immediately begin indirect negotiations with the aim of reaching an agreement on the points of disagreement.

Hamas added that this agreement should provide relief to the people of Gaza and end the humanitarian disaster in the region, and ultimately lead to a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from Gaza.

Previously, Cairo and Doha announced in a joint statement that they would continue their efforts to bring approaches closer on the points of disagreement regarding the Witkoff proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
