On the evening of Wednesday, 27th of May, the German and Swiss Foreign Ministries issued separate statements calling for a ceasefire and the entry of aid into Gaza.
The Swiss Foreign Ministry said: “We are deeply concerned about the unbearable suffering in Gaza and call for unrestricted access to humanitarian aid.”
Al Jazeera quoted the statement as saying: “We call for intensified diplomatic efforts to end the Gaza war and release the hostages.”
German Foreign Minister Johannes Wadduhl also said: “The attack on a food distribution center in Gaza confirms that current efforts are not enough.”
According to the report, Wadiful also added: “There is an urgent need to make progress in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.”
