The European Union announced on Wednesday that it had placed three groups, the Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade, the Hamza Legion and the Sultan Murad Legion, on its sanctions list for killing Syrian Alawites in March.
The union said that these groups have targeted civilians, especially the Alawite community, and have committed indiscriminate killings.
