Vatican: Gaza situation unacceptable

“What is happening in Gaza is unacceptable,” Vatican Prime Minister Cardinal Pietro Parolin said in an interview with Vatican News on Tuesday.

According to Pietro, international humanitarian law must always be implemented and applied to everyone; we demand an end to the bombings and the necessary aid to reach the people of Gaza.

He called on the international community to do all it can to end this painful situation, while also calling for the release of all prisoners held by Hamas.

On the other hand, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), warning about the acute food crisis in the Gaza Strip, emphasized that about 250,000 Palestinians are suffering from severe hunger in the fifth stage of food insecurity, which is considered the most dangerous stage of hunger, and about 950,000 people are at risk of famine in stages four and five.
