Pakistan is the seventh most war-torn country in the world where civilians are targeted
Based on classified statistics published by the UK-based NGO Action Against Armed Violence, Pakistan ranked seventh in the world in 2024 among the countries where civilians suffered the most damage from explosive weapons.
The report states that in 2024, 790 civilians were targeted in 248 terrorist incidents in Pakistan, of which 210 civilians lost their lives.
This number represents a 9 percent decrease in civilian casualties compared to 2023, however, the number of incidents increased by 11 percent, reaching 218 in 2023.
