New wave of protests in Libya and 24-hour deadline set for the Presidential Council
According to international media reports, angry protesters in Libya gave the country’s Presidential Council 24 hours to implement their demands and also threatened to intensify their protests if their demands were ignored and not implemented.
The demonstrators held the interim government of national unity and the presidential council responsible for the political deadlock and security chaos prevailing in the country, especially after the recent clashes that resulted in the deaths of civilians and extensive damage to public property.
In their statement, the protesters called for the dissolution of all political institutions and the formation of a crisis committee to temporarily manage the country’s affairs.
