Netanyahu introduces new Shin Bet chief
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that Netanyahu has appointed David Zini to replace Ronen Bar as head of the Shin Bet.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated Zinni as the new head of the Shin Bet, the Israeli internal security agency, against the advice of the legal advisor, General David.
Zini was among the figures whom Netanyahu’s close associates had previously recommended for security positions.
The Israeli Chief Justice said that Netanyahu violated legal guidelines by appointing the new head of the Shin Bet.
The Ma’ariv newspaper reported that by appointing David Zini, Netanyahu overpowered the Army, the Police, and the Shin Bet.
