6 injured in clashes in Tripoli, Libya
The spokesman for the Libyan emergency care department announced that six people were injured during clashes in Tripoli between government forces and armed groups in the Libyan capital.
The Libyan Red Crescent in Tripoli also called on the city’s residents to stay in their homes and avoid traveling in the city except in very urgent cases.
The Mitiga International Airport Authority also announced that flights have been completely suspended and incoming flights will be redirected to Misrata Airport.
The UN envoy to Libya also expressed concern about the deteriorating security situation in Tripoli and called on all parties to stop the fighting and establish calm.
Earlier, news sources reported that Abdul Ghani Al-Kakli, head of the Organization for Supporting the Stabilization of the Situation in Western Libya, was killed during an exchange of fire south of Tripoli.
