On Wednesday (March 12) local time, US President Donald Trump said in a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Ireland: “No one will deport any Palestinian from Gaza.”
These statements of Trump are clearly a retreat from his previous proposal, which called for the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and the occupation of this region by the United States, which was widely opposed by Arab countries and other countries of the world, but was welcomed by Israel.
In a controversial plan, Trump demanded the withdrawal of about two million Palestinians from Gaza in order to rebuild this strip and create what he called the “Riviera of the Middlt”.
Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin also emphasized the need to stabilize the ceasefire and said: “We want the release of prisoners and the realization of peace in Gaza.”
At the same time, international mediation is underway to start negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
