NASA Image of the Day An amazing view of the Milky Way and Earth from the International Space Station
In NASA’s picture of the day, the Milky Way’s side has gone beyond the horizon of the planet Earth and shines in the darkness of space, which was recorded by one of the astronauts living in the space station.
Pettit captured this image with low light settings and a long exposure from the window of the Dragon spacecraft docked at the International Space Station (ISS).
It should be said that this amazing image was taken on January 29, when the space station was located at an altitude of about 400 km above the surface of the Pacific Ocean.
In the image, the Earth and the Milky Way can be seen in cream color. The rapid movement of the space station has caused the Earth’s surface to blur in the image, and what makes this photo truly stunning is the magnificent view of the Milky Way and its satellite galaxies. On the upper left side of the image, you can see the large and small Magellanic clouds.
