US State Department spokesman Tommy Bruce says that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed Gaza with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a trip to Riyadh, the capital of this country.
The US Secretary of State went to Saudi Arabia after US President Donald Trump has already angered the Arab world by proposing the forced evacuation of Palestinians from their land in the Gaza Strip in other Arab-speaking countries, including Egypt and Jordan.
Marco Rubio arrived in Saudi Arabia from Israel early Monday, beginning his first visit to the region as the United States’ top diplomat.
He is scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov ahead of American officials, and the talks will focus on ending the war in Ukraine and bringing Russia and the United States back together more broadly.
