Russia warns of a serious security flaw in “WhatsApp”
The Ministry of Interior of Russia warned on Friday 14th of February that a serious security flaw has been detected in the “WhatsApp” software, which allows spyware to automatically infiltrate users’ devices.
The cybercrime department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that this problem allows malicious software to enter their devices without any action from users.
Officials found that the spyware known as “Graphite” infiltrates users’ phones through infected PDF files that are sent in WhatsApp groups.
