Karim Aqa Khan, the 49th Imam of the Ismaili religion, died at the age of 88
The Aga Khan Development Network has announced that Karim Aga Khan is the 49th imam of the Ismaili religion in the past by publishing a statement on X social network.
An announcement by this network states: “His Highness Prince Karim Al-Husseini, Aqa Khan, the 49th Imam of the Shia Ismailis and a direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), died peacefully in Lisbon on February 4, 2025, with his family members by his side.”
Aqa Khan was one of the richest people in the world, who was famous for his development activities and success in horse racing.
Mr. Khan, with the leadership of 12 million followers of the Ismaili religion, was also considered one of the branches of the Shia religion.
