US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that Donald Trump’s interest in buying Greenland is a serious matter and is directly related to US national interests.
According to Rubio, since winning the November election, Trump has repeatedly expressed his desire to annex Greenland, an autonomous region under Danish rule, and has not even ruled out the possibility of using military or economic power to convince Denmark.
According to Reuters, Rubio added in a radio program that Trump is still looking to buy Greenland and has not even ruled out the possibility of using military force to take over because he does not want to give up negotiating leverage.
