Today (Saturday, 4th of January), an informed source informed the “Al Mamoulah” news site that this attack was carried out using a small drone and this is the first time that this attack has been carried out. The base is attacked on the border lines of Iraq.
However, the aforementioned source said that the anti-aircraft units stationed at this airfield shot down the drone before it reached the Turkish military helicopters.
This source, whose name was not mentioned, said that this attack, which is happening for the first time, indicates the intensification of the scope of their quality attacks, as well as the increasing use of Ankara’s enemies to carry out direct attacks on the country’s bases.
According to this source, Türkiye has started deploying anti-drone systems in bases that have military airfields to prevent direct attacks.
