World Health Organization warning for an unknown disease that has killed up to 143 people in Congo
Local authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have recently reported an unknown disease that killed 143 people in the city of Lobo Mbashi in November.
Although there is little information about this disease, the increase in the number of people suffering from it has caused the World Health Organization (WHO) to warn about it.
Remy Saki, Congo’s provincial health minister, told Reuters that infected people have reported flu-like symptoms such as high fever and severe headaches.
Now, a health team has been sent to the region, especially Panzi health region, where the disease is more common, to collect samples and conduct tests to identify this disease.
Sephorin Manzanza, a Congolese civil society leader, also told Reuters that the situation is very worrying as the number of infected people continues to rise.
