The announcement came after Musk sharply criticized US President Donald Trump’s proposed budget and tax bill, which he said would push the country toward “bankruptcy.” Musk wrote in a post on the social network X, “When it comes to bankrupting the country with waste and corruption, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the American Party is being formed to give you back your freedom.” He stated that the goal of this party is to serve the true will of the people and confront the two-party structure that dominates America. The move came after a poll on X in which Musk asked users whether they wanted a new party to represent the 80 percent moderate. The results of this poll, according to Musk, showed double support for the establishment of the new party.
