Cuba officially requested to join BRICS

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba announced that the Cuban government sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin and presented its official request to join the “BRICS” countries.

Currently, Russia has heads the BRICS group.

The BRICS group was formed in 2009 by four countries: Brazil, India, Russia and China,South Africa joined this country.

Since the beginning of this year, five countries, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia have been added to the BRICS group
