Mark Rutte became the Secretary General of NATO

Mark Rutte, the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, was appointed as the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization with the approval of 32 NATO member countries.

On Wednesday, representatives of NATO members voted in favor of the only candidate for the presidency of this organization, and in this way, 57-year-old Mark Rutte will succeed Jens Stoltenberg from October 1 this year.
