According to ABC News, according to American officials, the pilot was the only passenger of this fighter who was able to eject himself and went to the hospital due to serious injuries.
A U.S. official told ABC News that the plane is a new F-35 and belongs to the U.S. Marine Corps, and a Defense Contract Management Organization pilot was transferring the fighter from the Lockheed Martin factory to the military when it crashed.
Lockheed Martin also announced that the plane was supposed to be flown from Fort Worth, Texas to Edwards Air Force Base in California, when it crashed after refueling at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
