Lebanese army enters western Zawtar within the framework of security agreement
The Lebanese Army has announced that its military battalions have begun their deployment in the town of West Zouthar in southern Lebanon, as part of the first phase of the pilot areas project under the “Framework Agreement”.
The Lebanese Army Command said that this action was taken after coordination with the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L), and that the army’s engineering units have also begun operations to clear the area of explosives and remnants of war.
The Lebanese army has asked citizens to refrain from traveling to the town and to follow the instructions of the deployed forces until the security situation is stabilized.
