Colombian president rejects initial election results
Colombian President Gustavo y Petro has announced that he does not accept the published preliminary results of the presidential election and considers them to be without legal validity.
He emphasized that the information published under the title “Vote Count” is not binding and cannot be relied upon as the final basis for the election results.
Meanwhile, Ivan Sepada, the candidate of the Left Party, has claimed that there is a discrepancy in the vote counting process equivalent to 885,000 ballots and has called for these discrepancies to be investigated by the responsible electoral institutions.
These statements come as the process of reviewing and finalizing the election results in Colombia continues.
