South Korean Defense Minister: Cooperation with US to contain North Korea will continue
South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-bak announced that Seoul will continue to deepen and expand defense and security cooperation with the United States to counter threats from North Korea.
He emphasized that the South Korean government is simultaneously taking steps to strengthen its strategic alliance with the United States and increase its national defense capabilities.
The South Korean Defense Minister added that maintaining effective deterrence and defense readiness are Seoul’s top priorities in the face of regional security challenges.
Military and security relations between South Korea and the United States have expanded further in recent years with joint exercises and the development of defense cooperation.
