The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced that Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, in a meeting with the Pakistani Interior Minister in Tehran, discussed ongoing efforts to end the war and reduce tensions.
In this meeting, Araqchi emphasized that the contradiction in America’s positions and the presentation of extremist demands are the main obstacle to progress on the path of diplomacy.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen diplomacy and prevent escalation of tensions, and said that Tehran has entered the negotiation process responsibly, despite its doubts about US policies.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the US State Department has announced that Donald Trump is seeking an agreement with Iran but will not allow Tehran to obtain a nuclear weapon.
The American official added that the postponement of a possible attack on Iran came after Trump consulted with regional leaders, and that Washington still prefers the path of diplomacy.
