Paul Gapur, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, met with Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
In this meeting, Ishaq Dar welcomed Donald Trump’s views on peace, the Iran-US ceasefire agreement, and the US Vice President’s visit to Pakistan, and emphasized resolving issues through dialogue and diplomacy.
He also expressed satisfaction with the growing trend of Pakistan-US relations and emphasized the continuation of regular contacts and structured dialogues between the two countries.
The American official also praised Pakistan’s role in regional mediation and emphasized the continuation of the positive trend in bilateral relations.
In the end, the two sides agreed to expand cooperation in the sectors of trade, investment, and development.
