Araqchi: We are not seeking a temporary ceasefire; the goal is a complete, comprehensive and sustainable end to the war

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized in an interview with Japan’s Kyodo News Agency that Tehran is ready to ensure the safe passage of Japanese ships through the Strait of Hormuz, provided that they fully coordinate with Iranian authorities.

He clarified: “Iran has not closed the Strait of Hormuz, but has imposed restrictions on ships from countries that have been involved in attacks against us.”

Araqchi added that Iran is not seeking a temporary ceasefire. Our goal is a complete, comprehensive and sustainable end to the war.

Iran’s Foreign Minister: Several countries are trying to mediate to end the conflict, and Tehran welcomes any acceptable initiative.

He emphasized that the United States has not yet shown the necessary readiness to achieve a real and lasting solution.

Araqchi concluded by announcing that there were talks between Iran and Japan about the possibility of ensuring security.
