US issues 30-day permit to buy stranded Russian oil

The United States has issued a temporary 30-day permit allowing countries to purchase Russian crude oil and petroleum products currently stranded at sea.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, in a message on the social network X on Friday morning (13th of March ), described this decision as a step to stabilize global energy markets, which have been turbulent due to the war against Iran.

This temporary license allows buyers to purchase Russian cargoes that were purchased before the sanctions were tightened or were left stranded at sea without facing immediate restrictions.
