Amir Khan Mottaqi’s phone call with Uzbekistan’s Foreign
Amir Khan Mottaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, discussed recent developments in bilateral relations and opportunities for regional cooperation in a telephone conversation with Bakhtiar Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The two sides positively assessed the progress made in relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and emphasized the strengthening of political, economic and diplomatic interactions.
Muttaqi stated that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, as neighboring and brotherly countries, have many common interests and opportunities, and expressed hope that through continuous consultations, economic cooperation and joint initiatives will further expand this year.
Bakhtiar Saidov also welcomed the progress of Kabul-Tashkent relations, emphasized Uzbekistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with Afghanistan, and pointed to the significant growth of bilateral trade. He announced that feasibility studies for the Trans-Afghan Railway project will begin soon.
