UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric announced that the organization is deeply concerned by the Israeli regime’s decisions in the occupied West Bank, warning that these actions undermine the two-state solution.
Dujarric added that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned by the reported decision of the Israeli Security Cabinet to authorize a series of administrative and executive measures in Areas A and B of the occupied West Bank.
Guterres stressed that all Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and their associated infrastructure have no legal validity and are a clear violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The UN spokesperson noted that such decisions would drastically change the status quo, undermine the prospects for lasting peace, and violate the international obligations of the Israeli regime.
