Reuters Indian refiners stop buying oil from Russia
Reuters news agency reported, citing informed sources, that India’s largest refineries have stopped accepting Russian crude oil for loading in March and April.
The decision comes as New Delhi moves closer to reaching a major trade deal with the United States.
Reuters sources added that Indian refiners have increased their oil imports from Middle Eastern, African and South American countries while reducing purchases from Russia.
This shift in India’s oil supply sources could indicate an effort to diversify imports and align more closely with Washington’s economic and geopolitical policies.
