Hamas, Palestinian groups strongly oppose US-proposed resolution in Security Council

Hamas announced that Palestinian groups have expressed their firm opposition to the US-proposed resolution in the United Nations Security Council supporting Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, stressing that the plan will not contribute to stability in Gaza.

The Security Council is scheduled to vote on the draft resolution on Monday (17) November 2025.

According to the US mission to the UN, the draft includes clauses on the deployment of international stabilization forces in Gaza and the creation of a stable, secure, peaceful, and prosperous future for Palestinians without the presence of Hamas.

According to sources, US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz has considered not supporting this plan to be equivalent to voting in favor of Hamas and continuing the war.

In contrast, Hamas officials have rejected the plan, describing it as “biased in favor of Israel,” and insisting that the proposal ignores Palestinian interests.
