Widespread insults by Golani elements to Shiites in the Zainabiyah area of Damascus

Social media has published images of elements supporting Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the president of the Syrian transitional government and the leader of the Tahrir al-Sham group, chanting insulting and aggressive slogans against Shiites in the Zainabiya area of Damascus.

According to the released videos, these individuals held street gatherings and rode motorcycles, chanting slogans insulting Shiites, and demanded the closure of the Hussainiyas and the expulsion of Shiites from Damascus.

In these clips, Takfiris and Al-Jolani supporters have provoked widespread anger among Shiite communities and social media users by making highly offensive statements.

These actions are taking place while the Zainabiyah area of Damascus is known as one of the important Shiite centers in Syria and hosts holy sites such as the shrine of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH).

There has been no official response from the Syrian government or Tahrir al-Sham to this incident, but the widespread publication of these images has raised concerns about the escalation of sectarian tensions in the Syrian capital.
