Mottaqi and Araqchi’s phone conversation: Iran announces readiness to cooperate to resolve challenges between Kabul and Islamabad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate announced in an official press release that the country’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki discussed the recent negotiations between Kabul and Islamabad in Istanbul in a telephone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi.

According to this press release, Abbas Araqchi emphasized the need to resolve the existing challenges between Afghanistan and Pakistan through constructive dialogue and expressed Iran’s full readiness to cooperate and mediate in this regard.

On the other hand, Amir Khan Muttaqi stated in this conversation that the Afghan delegation had participated in the Istanbul talks with good intentions and goodwill and always prioritized diplomacy as the main solution to resolving problems with Pakistan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate also added that in the third round of talks, the Pakistani side did not accept any responsibility and was not ready for constructive cooperation, which challenged the progress of the negotiations.
