SpaceX makes history by launching the 10,000th Starlink internet satellite into space
SpaceX has set a new historical record by launching its 10,000th Starlink internet satellite.
The launch coincided with the 132nd Falcon 9 mission in 2025 and included 28 satellites from the Vandenberg base in California.
According to sources, the launch took place on October 19, 2025 and the SpaceX launch manager said at the moment the rocket took off: “From Tin Tin to 10,000, go Starlink, go Falcon, go SpaceX.” More than an hour later, 28 satellites were deployed at an altitude of 260 kilometers from the earth.
The first Starlink test satellites, named Tintin A and B, were launched in February 2018, and public service began in October 2020.
According to calculations, out of a total of 10,060 satellites launched, about 8,608 are active, and the rest have been deorbited in a controlled manner.
