Seven Zionist prisoners handed over to the Red Cross within the framework of the prisoner exchange agreement

On Monday morning  the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over seven Zionist prisoners to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip in the first phase of a prisoner exchange agreement.

The operation began at 8 a.m. occupied Jerusalem time, and Al-Qassam fighters deployed to designated locations to free the prisoners.

According to the announced schedule, the second phase of this exchange will take place at 10 am with the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.

The Al-Qassam Brigades emphasized that they are committed to the agreement and its timetable, provided that the Israeli regime also fulfills its obligations.

Al-Qassam announced in a statement that the Israeli regime had failed to release the prisoners through military pressure and was now forced to accept an exchange agreement.

The group also noted that the Israeli regime’s procrastination and stubbornness in recent months have led to the deaths of dozens of prisoners, while many of them could have been released alive.
