Russia:If Europe doesn’t give our money, we will have a strong reaction

Moscow stated that any action against Russian assets frozen in EU member states would be a clear violation of international law and Russia would respond in the same way.

The Kremlin’s warning comes as European leaders are considering a plan to use some $300 billion in frozen Russian assets to provide a $165 billion loan to Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed in a call with reporters that we are talking about theft and did not distinguish between the direct confiscation of assets and their use for loans to Kiev.

He warned that Russia would prosecute individuals and countries involved in the theft of Russian assets.

The remarks came a day after Vladimir Putin signed a decree to accelerate the redistribution of assets within Russia.
