Afghanistan-Iran joint economic and trade meeting held in Kabul
A joint economic and trade meeting between Afghanistan and Iran was held in Kabul with the presence of Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate, and Seyyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mines and Commerce of Iran.
This meeting was held in order to develop economic relations between the two countries and increase the volume of trade exchanges.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the main goal of this meeting is to explore ways to increase the volume of bilateral trade to $10 billion per year and fulfill previous commitments by both sides.
At the end of the meeting, Atabek pledged to follow up on the problems raised and provide the necessary cooperation to achieve this goal.
The meeting discussed topics such as developing banking cooperation, using Chabahar Port infrastructure, increasing the movement of goods through the Khaf-Herat railway line, cooperation in the field of mining, and holding regular meetings of the Joint Economic Committee and its sixteen sub-committees.
