Venezuela warns US about military movements in the Caribbean Sea

According to international media reports, the Venezuelan government warned the United States on Wednesday 21th of August that any military action against the country would have serious consequences for the entire Latin American and Caribbean region.

The warning follows reports that the US government has ordered the dispatch of three warships and thousands of military personnel to the southern Caribbean Sea, ostensibly to combat drug cartels.

In response to these moves, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez stated: “No empire has the right to touch the sacred soil of Venezuela.”

“Any military aggression by the United States will be considered an attack on all of Latin America and the Caribbean.”

He also called the move an attempt to interfere in Venezuela’s internal affairs and destabilize the region.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also announced the mobilization of 4.5 million Bolivarian militia members, emphasizing that the country’s armed forces are on full alert to neutralize any threat.
